Ana enjoys wandering through nature with her camera in hand, looking for the right angles, the proper lighting to capture her chosen subject. Being also a photographer, her natural inclination has been towards hyperrealism.
Ana thinks that nature is perfect, in all its beauty and drama; that's why she takes countless photographs of the subject to be painted such as the clouds, the sea, the different shades of an animal's coat, or the shape and color of a rock. She continues to challenge herself because she wants to capture this perfection.
For Ana, painting is at the same time discipline and passion. She does not confine herself to a single area of interest, preferring to vary her projects and the media. Though her favorite medium is acrylic, she likes also to use oil. She works in layers and makes glazes to achieve depth.
Other times, she uses different elements of the landscape to incorporate to her works (soil, sand, gravel). In this way, she feels that these natural elements confirm the unique identity of this work of art.
Ana understands how to capture lights and shadows in her artistic works. Her palette is filled with the realistic colors of nature.
As Ana says:” Why do I paint? I paint because it's essential to me, it's my way of expressing myself. I feel a communion of mind and soul when I am surrounding by nature. I want to represent it as it is, with its tremendous beauty. When I paint, I always smile. It is a magical state in which wonder appears before the eyes, created by hands, eyes and mind. For me to represent a real subject creating the three dimensions illusion is somehow to give life, it is adding my own vision of the world” ...
